After two decades of education reform, New Yorkers are poised to vote for new City leadership who will have access to unprecedented funding to help schools recover from Covid-19. This report shares policy recommendations based on analyzing 20 years of existing and new data sets related to New York City schools, combing through news articles and archival materials spanning two mayoral administrations, and reviewing academic research related to educational equity and reform.
